One reason for this is that we cannot get what we want without it. If you want hot water, you need to know which is the correct faucet. To stop your friend's tears, you need to know why he is crying. To get a college degree, you need to have the knowledge to answer the exam questions. To catch a plane, you need to know the flight schedule. To make a living as a doctor, you need to know medicine. Accurate information - truth - is crucial to navigating life's challenges. Without the truth, we only guess that our actions have the desired effect; we hope and pray that they prove successful. The effect could be, and often is, failure. Truth is so useful that (in almost all cases) ignoring it is not the best policy. When the truth is disregarded, things get worse. But in the end, it was the downfall for he and his people, and only light for the Jewish nation. He is also a talmid of Yeshiva Daas Chachma, headed by Rabbi Asher Wilheim, with whom he learned b’chavrusa, and Rabbi Meir Sender. Rabbi Pruzansky cherishes the close relationship that he was zocheh to build with all of his roshei yeshiva. He enjoys utilizing his business acumen and his time in yeshiva to produce divrei Torah that are appealing to both the layman and b’nei yeshiva alike, while always staying true to original Torah sources. He is deeply committed to inspiring Klal Yisrael to come closer to Torah and recognize its sweetness, as well as to showing how Torah can and should be involved in all aspects of life.

In 2019, Rabbi Pruzansky published A Dose of Inspiration through Feldheim Publishers. The range of questions is astonishing, and reflects the variety of experience in our world. My son wants to make a snowman on Shabbos; is he allowed to do so? My elevator went into free fall until the emergency brakes kicked in - do I have to "bentch gomel"? What is the best way to prepare for a possible Shabbos birth? I can go to a Torah shiur or a wedding - which has precedence? Do we believe in "luck" - and what do we mean when we wish someone "mazal tov"? Using such questions as a starting point for discussion, the author includes many general guidelines on each topic, as well as penetrating insights into the mitzvah. Here is a wealth of both information and inspiration; thus, a question of whether a teenage boy should wear tzitzis while exercising ends with a poignant discussion of the commandment, drawing upon the experiences of people as diverse as King David and the Vilna Gaon.

Extensive footnotes make this work an invaluable resource for scholars, and a detailed index allows the reader to quickly find the answers to questions that come up every day.

From dealing with competition in the marketplace to taking allergy medicine on Shabbos; from waking a parent for an important business phone call to the halachos of bar mitzvah: this is a book as rich and varied as our own lives.
Rabbi Viener's shiurim on family issues, Chumash, Navi, Tefillah and many other topics in halachah and hashkafah are available at his website, www.Torahstream.org

Product Details

Author: Rabbi Yosef Viener

Publisher: ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications

Format: Hardcover

Pages: 420

Dimensions: 6.00 X 9.00

ISBN: 9781422611388

Category: Halachah

Why shop at Judaica Square? Authorized ArtScroll dealer with the full catalog.
