ArtScroll Schottenstein Talmud Sizes Explained: Full-Size vs. Daf Yomi vs. Travel

Which size of the Schottenstein Gemara is right for you — for the beis medrash, the daily shiur, or the road.

The ArtScroll Schottenstein Talmud comes in several sizes with the same text and elucidation — the difference is dimensions, weight, and how you’ll use them.

The three main sizes

1. Full-Size

The flagship edition — large, commanding volumes. Best for a home or beis medrash set, a permanent reference library, and gifting (a full-size Shas is a classic chasunah or siyum gift). Trade-off: heavy to carry.

2. Daf Yomi Size (~7″ × 10″)

The most popular all-around size — smaller and lighter, still very readable. The size most Daf Yomi learners carry daily. Best for one do-it-all set.

3. Travel / Compact

The lightest, most portable option, built for a bag or a flight. Best as a second carry set — browse Travel & Compact Gemara.

Tip: you don’t have to buy the whole Shas at once — build it a masechta at a time and browse by masechta, or start with a complete set.
