Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Hebrew-only and elucidated editions?
Hebrew-only gives you the text with the classic commentaries and nothing added. Elucidated editions insert explanation into the text, in Hebrew or English. Yeshivos generally use Hebrew-only; elucidated suits independent learning.

What is menukad?
Fully vocalised — printed with nekudos. It makes reading considerably easier and is common in siddurim, Mishnayos and some Chumashim. Most Gemara is not menukad.

Which publisher should I choose?
Oz Vehadar is known for clearly reset type and well-produced editions — a common choice when legibility matters. Machon Yerushalayim is favoured for scholarly editions. The right answer is often whichever your yeshiva or chavrusa uses, because of pagination.

Do you sell individual volumes or only sets?
Both. Most multi-volume seforim are available as singles as well as complete sets, which matters when you only need the volume being learned.

Can you find a sefer that is not listed?
Usually. Send the title in Hebrew or transliterated and we will check availability. Hebrew titles transliterate inconsistently, so if a search comes up empty it is worth asking rather than assuming we do not have it.

Can I see the print quality before buying?
Yes, and for Hebrew seforim it is the thing most worth checking in person. Type size, paper and binding vary enormously between editions of the same sefer.
