The unglamorous truth about a beautiful menorah is the twenty minutes afterward spent digging hardened wax out of eight little cups with a butter knife. These small aluminum inserts sit inside the cups, take the candle and the drips, and get thrown away in the morning.
Each holder is sized for a standard Chanukah candle, so the candle stands upright with the wax pooling in the foil instead of running down the arms of the menorah. Plain aluminum stays visually quiet against nickel, brass, and pewter alike.
At 44 per pack there is one cup for every light of the holiday, shamash included. They are equally useful under Shabbos candles on a tray you would rather not scrape.
