Shul is the place where we go to daven and to learn, to hear a shiur, blow the shofar, listen to the Megillah. It's the place that holds our eager tefillos, where we ask Hashem to fulfill our deepest desires.

But how did this building come to be? What was here before the shul was built? How did these walls get so big and strong, and what's underneath them? What kind of workersand materials did it take to make this building?
