Description
The iKippah Knit Kippah is a solid-colour crocheted yarmulke for men and boys, sold in five colours and 12 flat sizes at $9.99. Each one is worked in a continuous spiral of tight knit stitches that start at a small ring on the crown and circle out to the edge, with no separate rim band and no contrast trim. Best for
- Someone who wants a light kippah that folds into a pocket
- Finding an exact fit, with flat sizes every centimetre from 14 to 24
- Everyday wear to work, school and weekday minyan
- A plain dark knit that matches a family's existing kippot
Not the right choice if
- A community where a velvet or leather kippah is the norm
- Anyone wanting numbered sizes 1 to 6; this comes in centimetre cuts only
- Shoppers after a contrast edge; see the coloured-rim knit instead
- A structured dome that holds its shape off the head
Why customers choose it
The knit kippah is light, flexible and stays on well because the stitches grip the hair a little. What sets this knit apart is the size range: twelve flat cuts from 14 cm for a small boy to 24 cm for full coverage, so you can match the size of an old favourite closely. The solid colours are plain on purpose, which makes it an easy daily kippah that goes with anything.

Frequently asked questions
What colours does the solid knit come in?
Black, navy, dark navy, brown and gray. Navy is a medium blue-navy, while dark navy is deep enough to read almost black indoors.
How do centimetre sizes work on a knit kippah?
The number is the flat diameter across the kippah. Around 14 to 16 cm suits young boys, 17 to 19 cm most teens and men, and 20 cm and above gives fuller coverage.
Why is there no 13 cm size?
The run goes from 14 cm up to 24 cm, including a 23.5 cm option. For a very small child, the 14 cm cut is the smallest offered here.
Does it have a rim?
No. The knit is worked right to the edge in the same colour, which gives a soft, seamless border instead of a sewn band.
How is this different from the coloured-rim knit?
The stitch and shape are the same, but this one is a single colour throughout. The coloured-rim version adds a contrasting knit edge in blue, tan or gray.
Can a knit kippah be washed?
Knit is the most forgiving fabric for cleaning. Rinse gently by hand in cool water, press it back into shape and let it dry flat.
