Brown Leather Kippah for Men, Mid Brown Yarmulke

The Mid Brown Leather Kippah is a four-panel leather yarmulke for men and boys, offered in 8 sizes at $11.99. The colour is a warm chestnut brown with a faint reddish cast, lighter than chocolate and darker than tan. The leather has a fine, even grain with a soft sheen, the four seams meet cleanly at the crown, and the edge is bound in the same brown leather with a single line of matching stitching, so nothing contrasts. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

How this compares

Best for

• A man who wants brown leather but finds dark brown too heavy
• Pairing with navy or charcoal suits, where chestnut adds warmth
• Everyday wear, since leather keeps its dome after daily pocketing
• Men who prefer a slightly flatter fit and can take a 16, 18 or 20 cm flat

Not the right choice if

• You need a size 6 domed kippah; the numbered sizes stop at 5
• Your yeshiva or shul expects black only
• You want a contrast rim; this one is brown all the way to the edge
• You want a lightweight fabric for summer heat; linen breathes better

Why customers choose it

Mid brown is the hardest leather colour to get right: too red and it looks orange, too dark and it disappears into black hair. This one lands on a chestnut that reads clearly as brown in daylight and still looks composed with a suit. The tonal binding keeps the outline clean, and the choice of eight sizes, including three flat cuts, means a father and a young son can wear the same colour.

Size guide

Sizing is guidance, not a promise — heads vary. When you are between two sizes, the larger one sits better.

Frequently asked questions

How does mid brown differ from the plain Brown Leather Kippah?
Mid brown is a lighter chestnut with a slight red warmth. The plain brown leather version is deeper and closer to chocolate, so it reads darker from a distance.

What does the flat cut mean in the size list?
The 16cm, 18cm and 20cm options are flat kippot measured across the diameter. They sit lower on the head than the domed numbered sizes 1 to 5.

Does chestnut brown work with a black suit?
It can, but it stands out. It sits most naturally with navy, charcoal, grey or tan clothing, where the warm brown picks up belts and shoes.

How should I clean a leather kippah?
Wipe the surface with a slightly damp soft cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Keep it away from radiators and direct heat.

Can a name be added inside or on this brown kippah?
Yes, names and dates can be embroidered with no minimum order. Allow 10 to 14 days plus shipping for embroidered orders.
