Description
The Royal Blue Cotton Kippah is a solid four-panel cotton yarmulke for men and boys, offered in 8 sizes at $9.99. The fabric is a fine diagonal-weave cotton twill in a saturated royal blue, bright enough to read clearly as blue rather than navy. The edge is finished with a narrow piped band cut from the same blue cloth, so there is no contrast rim at all. Inside, the four panels are lined in charcoal grey cotton printed with the iKippah logo and a circled size number. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

How this compares
| Kippah | Material | Season / weight | Formality | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Blue Cotton (this one) | Royal blue cotton twill | Year-round, light | Casual to everyday | A bright solid colour with no print |
| Navy Cotton Kippah / Yarmulke | Navy cotton | Year-round, light | Everyday, quieter | The same plain cotton cut in a darker, more conservative blue |
| Slate Blue Cotton Kippah / Yarmulke | Slate blue cotton twill | Year-round, light | Everyday | A muted grey-blue for someone who finds royal too loud |
Best for
- School and camp, where a solid colour is allowed but black is not required
- Matching a team, class or family colour for a simcha or trip
- Boys who want a plain kippah that still stands out
- Pairing with khakis, grey trousers or a white shirt on weekdays
Not the right choice if
- A shul or yeshiva that expects black or navy only
- Someone after a dressy velvet or suede look for Shabbos
- A shopper who wants a print or a contrast rim
- A formal wedding outfit where a bright blue would clash with a dark suit
Why customers choose it
Royal blue is one of the few solid colours that looks deliberate rather than faded, and this twill holds the shade evenly across all four panels. Because the rim is piped in the same cloth, the whole kippah reads as one colour from any angle, which is what people buying for a class, a team or a set of brothers usually want. The cotton is light and soft, so it stays comfortable through a school day, and the sizing runs from a toddler size 1 up to an 18cm flat cut.
Size guide
| Size | Typical fit |
|---|---|
| 1 | Toddler, roughly 2–3 years |
| 2 | Young child, roughly 4–5 years |
| 3 | Child, roughly 6–7 years |
| 4 | Older child, roughly 8–10 years |
| 5 | Teen and most adult men — the most-ordered size |
| 6 | Larger adult head |
| 16cm Flat | Flat style, 16 cm across — typically child |
| 18cm Flat | Flat style, 18 cm across — typically teen to adult |
Sizing is guidance, not a promise — heads vary. When you are between two sizes, the larger one sits better.
Frequently asked questions
Is this royal blue or navy?
It is a true royal blue, clearly brighter than navy. If you want a darker blue that passes as dress wear, the Navy Cotton Kippah is the closer match.
Does the rim have a different colour?
No. The edge is piped in the same royal blue twill as the crown, so the kippah is one solid colour all the way around.
How many panels does the royal blue kippah have?
Four. The four seams meet neatly at the centre of the crown.
Which size should an adult choose?
Size 5 fits most teens and men. Size 6 is for a larger head, and the 16cm and 18cm flat cuts suit men who like a shallower kippah.
Can a boy's name be embroidered on it?
Yes. Names embroider cleanly on cotton twill with no minimum order; allow 10 to 14 days plus shipping.
How do I clean a cotton kippah?
Spot clean marks with a damp cloth and mild soap, press the crown back into shape and let it air dry.
