Lucite Table Shtender, Single Height Malchut Design #334

A single height stand in clear lucite, design 334, made to sit on a table and hold one sefer open at a reading angle. Single height means a fixed pitch rather than an adjustable one, which is what keeps the piece simple, rigid and free of hinges that loosen over a few years of use.

The angle is the reason to own one. A gemara or a siddur lying flat on a table forces the neck down for however long the seder lasts, and after an hour that is what people feel rather than the learning. Raising the sefer brings the page up to the eye and the shoulders back. Clear lucite also means the stand reads as almost nothing on a dining room table, which is where most home learning actually happens.

Choose between this and the double foldable version by how you learn. If it is one sefer at a time, a single is lighter, cheaper and takes less space; if there is regularly a second volume open alongside, the double is worth the difference.
