Description
Rarely did the legendary Mirrer Rosh Yeshivah, Rav Shmuel Berenbaum zt"l, leave the beis midrash, yet his light shone forth to inspire an entire generation of bnei Torah , a beacon that uplifted the honor of Torah in the eyes of untold masses and restored the primacy of learning to its rightful place. Even as the narrative of Rav Shmuel's life travels from Knyszyn to Baranovitch, Mir to Kobe, and Shanghai to Ocean Parkway, it really focuses on one place: a man anchored to his shtender , climbing heights and capturing new horizons all from the blatt Gemara that constantly occupied his entire being. Here is a revealing portrait of Rav Shmuel's multi-faceted personality: incredible hasmadah and love of Torah; stalwart middas ha-emes , his glowing smile, even in the face of adversity; the indomitable spirit, fighting like a lion for his sevaros ; his chesed and humility. Packed with amazing anecdotes and powerful lessons gleaned from reliable sources - including family members and close talmidim - this gripping book is sure to leave the reader with lasting inspiration and a deeper appreciation for Torah long after the final page. Including a 32-page full-color photo section!
