Why the bristles are rubber
Kosher Innovations designed this brush around four Shabbos concerns poskim raise about an ordinary toothbrush. Its soft rubber tips are spaced far apart, so they do not soak up water that would be wrung out as you brush, and they are gentle enough not to make gums bleed. Keeping a separate brush only for Shabbos also sets it apart from weekday use.
- The maker recommends its own Shabbos Toothwash rather than toothpaste with this brush.
- The rubber contains latex.
- Approvals listed by Kosher Innovations include Rav Yehoshua Neuwirth and Rav Yisroel Belsky. Ask your rabbi about your own practice.
