The Cuckoo Clock: A Novel by Esther Rapaport, Hardcover

Elisheva and Eliyahu Potolsky cannot explain the mysterious benefactor, the buyer desperate for an old cuckoo clock, or the caregiver curious about their grandfather's past. Meanwhile, during World War II, two Jewish boys bond in a Catholic orphanage. Esther Rapaport ties the threads together in a 487-page suspense novel.

A Novel

A mysterious benefactor who keeps throwing more and more money at a financially-strapped, large kollel family, for a very odd reason...

An old, half-broken cuckoo clock that no one seems to want--until a nameless buyer offers to purchase it for a small fortune...

An elderly father and grandfather, with zero knowledge of his true identity and background, whose caregiver, strangely enough, takes a special interest in the goings-on of his family...

Elisheva and Eliyahu Potolsky are more than a bit baffled at the bizarre circumstances surrounding their lives in recent months. Although grateful for the windfalls that come their way, at a certain point they become suspicious about all the "coincidences" happening to them. Can there be something else at play here?

In an austere Catholic orphanage in Europe, as World War II rages on, a deep friendship forms between two lonely Jewish boys. Can their friendship withstand the test of time...and the greatest form of disloyalty that one boy, in a tough moment, commits against the other?

In The Cuckoo Clock, popular novelist Esther Rapaport weaves a suspenseful and intriguing story, complete with true-to-life characters and shocking plot twists. A thriller that will keep you entranced until the very last page!
