A Novel

"Sometimes, when an unpleasant wind blows upon me or him, whispering insistently that this is what happens to people like us, together we chant the truths of this world. Anything can happen to anyone. And it can happen to us as well. We're not a magnet for trouble. Crises aren't specifically drawn to us. If they do happen, that simply means we're human and normal. Just like everyone else."

This story begins with Shevy Halperin's new life, when her old life as Shevy Weiss draws to an end. Her status and legal last name change, but her children continue to float between two homes. One of those homes belongs to Micha and Shevy.

Their family is complete. And divided. Ten flames dance in candle holders even when almost no one is at the Shabbos table.

That's the way that their life goes. They dance. And wander alone in the desert. They ensure that there will be a continuation. And that it will be a good one.

To Be Continued is Devora Rand’s sixth book, joining Journey to the End of the Earth, Freedom of Choice, Bittersweet, and others.
