Embroidered Gartel Bag, 8 x 8 Malchut Design #1009

An embroidered square of roughly 8 by 8 inches, made to hold one thing: a rolled gartel. Design #1009 carries the embroidery Malchut uses across its bag line, worked to the scale of a small pouch rather than shrunk down from a larger piece, so the pattern sits properly within the square instead of being cropped at the edges.

Eight inches square is the size that matters. A gartel rolled properly comes to a coil that fits that footprint without being compressed, which is the difference between a gartel that keeps its shape and one that comes out creased along the fold lines. Loose in a tallis bag it picks up every crease from whatever is packed beside it; in its own pouch it does not.
