Volume 8 adds another stretch of Rabbi David Cohen's commentary on the siddur. The strength of the series has always been proportion: the comments are short enough to be absorbed before Shacharis and substantial enough to be worth remembering, which is a harder balance to strike than it sounds.
Nothing here requires the earlier volumes. Each piece is self-contained, so this can be bought as a first taste of the sefer as easily as it can be bought to continue a set already underway. That makes it an easy gift when you know someone davens seriously but do not know which volumes he owns.
