Big menorahs need bigger foam. This is the large version of Ner Mitzvah's safety foam set, made for the wider glasses and thicker candles that the standard set is simply too small to hold securely.
Foam does two jobs on a menorah: it stops a cup from wandering when the table is bumped, and it keeps the candle upright as it burns down and the wax softens. A snug fit is the whole point, which is why the size choice matters more than it looks like it should.
