Description
The Black Linen Kippah with Tan Rim is a four-panel linen yarmulke for men and boys, offered in 9 sizes and priced at $9.99. Its crown is a deep black linen that shows a faint olive-green cast under studio light, and the binding is a pale natural linen close to oatmeal. Because the rim is so much lighter than the crown, the edge forms a crisp ring that is visible from several metres away. The linen weave is coarse enough to see on both fabrics. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

- Pairing with a straw or linen hat outfit for outdoor simchas
- Adults who prefer a flat cut in 18 or 20 cm
Not the right choice if
- You want a rim that hides dirt; a pale edge shows marks
- Your community wears black-only kippot
- You want the rim to match brown shoes; choose the mid brown rim
- You need a size above 6
Why customers choose it
Pale linen against black is the classic summer combination, and this kippah uses it at the edge rather than across the crown. The result is still predominantly black, which keeps it acceptable in most shuls, while the light rim lifts it enough to sit well with cream and stone clothing. The linen-on-linen construction also keeps the rim soft instead of stiff.

Frequently asked questions
Is the tan rim closer to beige or camel?
Closer to beige. It is a pale, undyed-looking oatmeal linen, much lighter than the camel rim sold separately.
Will the pale rim get dirty quickly?
A light edge shows marks faster than a dark one. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap as soon as you notice a mark.
Which flat size of the tan-rimmed black kippah do men usually pick?
Most men choose 18 or 20 cm in a flat cut. The 16 cm flat suits boys or men who like a very small kippah.
Is this appropriate for Shabbos?
For many people, yes, since the crown is black. If your shul expects black velvet only, it will not fit that rule.
What is the difference from the mid brown rim?
Both use black linen crowns. The mid brown rim is darker and blends more; this tan rim is lighter and stands out.
