Description
Net-like polyester in boys sizes 2 through 7 — a beged for the months when a child comes home from cheder soaked through. The mesh is full of holes by design; it moves air instead of holding it, and a boy running at recess in August is noticeably less miserable in it than in cotton. Wide round neck, one hole per corner, keshiras Ashkenaz, with meyuchad strings tied on.
Sizes are approximate, so go by the size he wears now. Machine-tied strings are the sensible choice on a child's beged and they are already on it, so there is nothing to arrange before he can wear it. It is machine washable, which is the other half of the argument: a summer beged on a six-year-old sees the hamper constantly.
Day camp is where these get bought by the pair. A boy who complains about his tzitzis in the heat usually stops complaining once he is in mesh, and having two means he is never waiting on the one that is still wet.
