Description
An all leather Modd'e set. Where the other numbers in the line mix leather or velvet with a linen or fabric ground, #654 runs leather across the pieces and finishes them with original cowhide fur and Swarovski elements. It is the most uniform and the most modern of the group — closer to a fine leather goods object than to a traditional embroidered Seder set.
Four pieces come together. The matzah cover includes the Kohein, Levi and Yisrael insert so the three matzos stay separated and in order, and it is joined by the afikomen bag, the pillow case for haseibah, and a matching hand towel.
Practically, leather is the easiest of these materials to live with. Wine and charoses wipe off it, it does not mark the way velvet does when handled by a full table of guests, and it stores flat between Yomim Tovim without creasing. For a family that keeps one Seder set for decades, that matters more than the initial look does.
