This is the pleated design with all the detail and none of the metalwork. The narrow pleating that gives the collection its name runs through the center of each piece, and the crystal detail is worked across it, but the sterling silver pieces that appear on the crystal version of this design are left off here. What remains is the pleating and the sparkle.

The four piece set includes the matzah cover with the Kohein, Levi and Yisrael insert, so the three matzos stay separated through Maggid, plus the afikomen bag, the pillow case for leaning, and the matching hand towel.

Design #554 is the sensible pick if you like the pleated look but do not want silver on the table competing with the silver you already own — the becher, the kearah, the candlesticks. Side by side with the sterling version, most people notice the pleating first and the missing metal second, if at all. For a first Seder set, or for a second set kept for a smaller table, that trade is usually worth making.
