Description
Design 254 steps away from lucite entirely. The holder itself is silver PU leather, soft sided rather than rigid, and the five zemiros inside it are silver PU as well, so the holder and its contents are finished in one material. The result is quieter on a table than a clear acrylic stand and it does not show fingerprints the way lucite does.
The practical difference is what happens when it is knocked. A lucite holder chips and scratches, and once it does the mark is permanent and visible. A soft holder absorbs the same knock and carries on, which is worth thinking about on a table with young children reaching across it every week.
Each of the five benchers carries candle lighting, Kiddush, the zemiros for Friday night and Shabbos day, Seder Havdallah, Birchas Hamazon, Sheva Brachos, Al Hamichya, and songs suitable for any time of year. Order in Ashkenaz or Edut Mizrach. Design 254 continues on other zemiros booklets in the Malchut range, so more copies in the same finish can be added to the five.
