Description
Velvet changes the classy pouch entirely. The nap takes light differently from a flat fabric, so the black and white on this 1025 reads as two textures as much as two colours, and the pile gives the scroll a soft bed instead of a hard wall. Soft-sided throughout, closing around the megillah rather than boxing it in.
The pouch is sewn at 18 by 6 inches and at 15 by 6 inches. Take the 18 for a standard full klaf; the 15 is for a shorter scroll and for anyone who wants less bulk in a bag. Velvet is the traditional ground for anything that holds a scroll, and it is what most people picture when they think of how a megillah is kept.
Shofar bags and tallis and tefillin bags are produced in 1025 as well, so the velvet can carry across to the Yomim Noraim pieces in the same design number.
