Description
Black PU leather with black fur on the crown scroll body — design 1040, and one that customers come back to. Tone on tone is the whole idea: the leather gives a smooth, even ground, the fur breaks it, and because both are black the case reads as one object rather than as two materials stuck together. It is the more restrained of the two 1040 finishes.
The tube is built at 17.7 inches and 14 inches. Full-length klafim take the large; the 14 inch is right for a shorter scroll or for a boy. Both sizes carry the personalized snap-on handle, which is worth having on a case this long — a 17.7 inch tube is awkward to hold under the arm and much easier to carry by a handle.
1040 is also made as a tallis and tefillin bag, and the matching pair is a common chosson gift where the buyer wants two pieces that clearly belong together.
