Shemen zayis or wax?
Shemen zayis is mehudar, closer to the neis. Wax is the heimish standard in many Ashkenazi homes. Both 100% kosher.
How many lichtelech for shemonah nights?
44 per person (1+2+3+…+8 = 36, plus shamash each night = 44).
Does an electric menorah fulfill the mitzvah?
Most poskim hold it doesn't. For decoration or travel display only.
