Description
Leather and fur together on design 1300, one of the weightier-looking cases in the megillah range. The fur is set against black leather, so the two materials work as texture against smoothness rather than as colour against colour, and the whole thing reads dark and substantial rather than decorative.
It is offered at 17.7 inches and at 14 inches. Full-length klafim need the long case; a shorter scroll is better held in the 14. The personalized snap-on handle is included with both, and on a case built like this the handle is not optional in practice — a full-length tube carried by the body for a walk to shul gets tiring in a way a lighter case does not.
Fur wants a little care. Kept in a closet with air around it and brushed the way you would brush a shtreimel, it holds its pile for years; crushed under other things on a shelf, it does not.
