Description
White fur against black PU leather, on the small crown scroll body. It is the high-contrast version of the 1040 finish and, on a short case, the fur takes up proportionally more of the surface than it does on a full-length tube, which is why this one looks dressier than its size suggests.
It is made at 11 inches and at 7 inches. Both are for small megillos: a travel scroll, a child's, or a compact klaf that shifts around inside a standard full-length case. If you have been keeping a small scroll in an oversized tube padded out with a cloth, this is the case that ends that arrangement.
Since 1040 is also cut as a tallis and tefillin bag, the same black-and-white treatment can run across both pieces. For a bochur who has been given a small megillah, the case and the bag together make a set out of two gifts that would otherwise be unrelated.
