Description
The Yechi Kippah in navy linen is a four-panel yarmulke for men and boys with gold Hebrew embroidery, offered in 9 sizes at $9.99. The crown is a slubby navy linen with a visible basket weave, and the four seams meet in a neat cross at the top. The Hebrew words of the Yechi phrase are stitched in pale gold thread in a continuous ring just above the edge, so the lettering can be read all the way around the kippah. The rim is a narrow navy band in the same linen, with no contrasting trim. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

How this compares
| Kippah | Material | Season / weight | Formality | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yechi – Navy Linen, Gold Lettering (this one) | Navy linen | Spring and summer, lightweight | Everyday to Shabbos | The Yechi phrase on a softer navy instead of black |
| Yechi Kippah – Black Cotton Gold Embroidery Yarmulke | Black cotton | Year-round | Everyday to Shabbos | The same gold Yechi lettering on a black cotton base |
| Yechi 4 Panel Kippah – Black Linen Yarmulke | Black linen | Spring and summer, lightweight | Everyday to Shabbos | Yechi lettering on the same breathable linen, in black |
Best for
- Men and boys who want the Yechi words visible on their kippah every day
- Warm-weather davening, since linen breathes better than velvet or suede
- A navy suit or blazer, where gold lettering on black can look stark
- Larger heads, with flat sizes that run up to 24cm
Not the right choice if
- You need a size 1 for a toddler; this design starts at size 2
- You want a plain kippah with no text on it
- Your yeshiva requires black velvet only
- You want lettering that stands out strongly; pale gold on navy is fairly soft
Why customers choose it
The lettering is the reason to choose this kippah, and it is placed so that it circles the whole head rather than sitting in one patch. Navy linen gives the gold thread a calmer background than black, so the text reads clearly without looking loud. Linen is also the lighter choice for summer Shabbosim and long days in shul. Flat sizes of 20, 22 and 24cm cover men who find numbered domes too small.

Sizing is guidance, not a promise — heads vary. When you are between two sizes, the larger one sits better.
Frequently asked questions
What does the embroidery on this kippah say?
It is the Hebrew Yechi phrase, embroidered in gold thread in a ring around the lower part of the kippah just above the rim.
Is the gold lettering printed or stitched?
It is stitched: raised gold thread embroidery sits on top of the linen weave, not a flat print.
How does this compare with the black cotton Yechi kippah?
Both carry gold Yechi lettering. This one is navy linen, which is lighter and has a visible weave; the black cotton version is smoother and darker.
Which size fits an adult man?
Most adult men take a size 5 or 6 dome. Men who want more coverage often choose the 20cm, 22cm or 24cm flat option.
Is there a size for a small child?
The smallest size in this design is size 2. For a younger child, look at a kippah that starts at size 1.
