Description
La Royale #630 sets a decorative medallion at the center of the panel and leaves the surrounding field open. Malchut named the collection for the look, and the design carries the heavier, more formal proportions that name implies — it is not a subtle piece and is not meant to be.
Three sizes are made. The 30cm kids size has no insert pockets. The 40cm bucherim size includes one pocket insert. The 47cm men size includes three pocket inserts, one per matzah, which is the configuration a man leading the Seder wants: the three stay in their order from Kadesh through to the afikomen without being handled apart.
#630 is one of the widest families Malchut runs. Challah covers, challah boards, haggadah covers and tallis and tefillin bags are all made to the number, which makes it a reasonable place to start if the intention is to build a matched set over a few years rather than buy one piece and stop. A haggadah cover in #630 alongside the 47cm cover is the pairing people order most often.
