Description
65% polyester and 35% cotton, which in practice means permanent press care. Slit neck, two holes at each corner, tied keshiras Ashkenaz. The blend is chosen for how it behaves rather than for how it feels: it comes out of the wash ready to wear, and the cotton in it keeps the beged wearable against skin.
Adult sizes 18 through 28, with thin avodas yad, thick avodas yad, or bli. Thin is the standard hand-tied string; thick hangs heavier and shows more below a jacket; bli sends the beged with the corners finished and empty if you supply your own strings.
Men choose poly-cotton for one practical reason and it is laundry. Permanent press means no ironing, week after week, which is the difference between a beged you maintain and one you simply wear. The slit-neck cut goes on without pulling over your head and sits open at the front. Two holes rather than one is a minhag your family either has or does not — if you were looking for it, this is the listing that carries it in the blend.
