Description
Black leather, gold embroidery, design #502. This is the strongest contrast in the range — gold thread on a black ground shows every line of the pattern, and under candlelight the metallic thread picks up the flames in a way a matte colour never will. It is the version that reads formal.
Cut fitted, so it sits tight to the table rather than hanging loose, and the menorah table is included with the cover. There is no size to work out and nothing to measure: the two arrive matched to each other. For a family lighting several menorahs on one surface, the fitted cut is what keeps everything flat while cups are being moved around.
Black is also the most forgiving colour on this particular table. Eight nights of oil, wax and matches leave marks that a white cover shows and a black one absorbs, and leather takes a wipe at the end of Chanukah before it goes back in its box. Between the gold and silver versions of #502, gold is the warmer of the two against a candlelit room.
