Description
Deep navy cotton with one deliberate piece of colour: a Persian green rim in a teal that leans blue, stitched in matching thread so the band reads as trim rather than as an add-on. It is a small contrast, and that is the point — enough to notice, not enough to stop being a navy kippah. Sold by Judaica Square in Lakewood, NJ.

- Sizes: 7 options — sizes 1–5 plus 16cm and 18cm flats (most adult men: Size 5 · kids: 1–3)
- Perfect for: Shabbos, shul, cheder, weddings, daily wear
Perfect for
A contrast-rim yarmulka is the easy way to give a boy something of his own without going to a print. This one is dressy enough for a Shabbos suit and plain enough for a school week, and the green picks up nicely against navy, olive and grey. It is also a good choice for a family buying several kippot at once — the rim colour makes it obvious whose is whose on a crowded shul bench.
Why parents love it
Cotton is washable and this navy hides a normal week. The rim is a separate band, so the edge that takes the most handling is also the most reinforced part of the kippah. Judaica Square carries the Navy Velvet Kippah – Persian Green Rim Yarmulke in the same colour pairing if you want the dressier velvet version for yom tov, and the 6 Panel Kippah – Navy Cotton Yarmulke if you would rather have no contrast at all.
Frequently asked questions
What colour is Persian green?
A blue-leaning teal — deeper than mint, greener than turquoise. Against navy it reads as a clear accent without clashing.
What size kippah for a 5 year old?
Size 2 or 3 covers most five-year-olds. Size 3 gives a little growing room.
Can the rim colour be matched to a bar mitzvah theme?
Rim colours are fixed per style, but embroidery thread can be matched. Message us on WhatsApp with the colour you need.
Does the green rim fade in the wash?
Hand wash cold and it holds. Hot water and the dryer are what fade a dyed rim, not normal wear.
Is a contrast rim acceptable for shul?
Yes — a single-colour rim on a navy kippah is standard weekday and Shabbos wear.
What is the difference between the numbered sizes and the cm flats?
The numbered sizes are shaped and domed. The 16cm and 18cm flats lie lower and wider on the head, which some boys find stays put better under a hat or a hood.
Is navy cotton warm enough for winter?
Cotton is a three-season weight. If you want something warmer for Teves and Shevat, a corduroy or velvet yarmulka is the usual switch, and cotton comes back out in the spring.
