Boys Golf Kippah, Navy Denim Dov Bear Yarmulke

The Golfer Dov Bear Kippah is a four-panel navy denim yarmulke for boys, embroidered with a teddy bear mid golf-swing, made in 9 sizes and priced at $9.99. The bear wears a navy crewneck, tan trousers, a navy cap and a single white glove, and stands on a small patch of green turf — the club is stitched in silver thread and follows through past his shoulder. The denim is a deep indigo with a visible twill grain. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping nationwide.

How this compares

Best for

• Boys who play golf, or whose father does — it reads as a golf kippah without a logo
• Shabbos and yom tov when a solid kippah feels plain but a loud print feels wrong
• Cheder and camp — denim hides wear better than cotton print
• A brothers set paired with the Scooter Dov Bear in the same navy denim

Not the right choice if

• You want an adult-formal kippah — a velvet or leather kippah is the right call
• You want a plain solid kippah with no motif on it
• You want a washable kippah — the embroidery limits this to spot cleaning
• You want the motif to be subtle from across a room; the bear is clearly visible

Why customers choose it

Denim is the most forgiving fabric in a boys' kippah. It does not show a fingerprint the way velvet does, and the indigo colour sits comfortably next to both a white shirt and a weekday polo. The embroidery here is dense rather than printed, so the golfer will not crack or peel the way a heat-transferred graphic does. The 9-size range covers a toddler through a grown man, which is why families tend to buy two at a time.

Size guide

Sizing is guidance, not a promise — heads vary. When you are between two sizes, the larger one sits better.

Frequently asked questions

What size kippah should I order for a 6 year old?
Size 3 fits most 6 to 7 year olds. If he is at the top of his class in height, order size 4 — a kippah that is slightly large sits better than one that perches.

Is this a real golf kippah or just a bear?
It is a Dov Bear golfer: the bear is mid-swing, in golf dress, on turf, with a stitched club. It reads as golf to anyone who plays, without carrying a brand logo.

Can this denim kippah be embroidered with a name?
Yes. WhatsApp 732-444-3111 and we will set up the name, the thread colour and the placement with you.

How do I clean a denim kippah with embroidery?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry flat. Machine washing loosens the embroidery threads and can pull the panels out of shape.

What is the difference between the numbered sizes and the flat sizes?
Numbered sizes are shaped four-panel kippot that sit on the crown. Flat sizes are measured edge-to-edge in centimetres and lie flatter on the head, which many boys prefer under a hat.

Will this match the Scooter Dov Bear kippah for a second son?
Yes — both are the same navy indigo denim with the same rim, so a golfer and a scooter bear look like a deliberate set rather than two unrelated kippot.

Is size 5 big enough for an adult man?
Size 5 is the most commonly ordered adult size and fits most grown men. Men who take a larger hat size usually go to size 6.
