Description
White-on-white wool, the weave that carries its pattern in the same white as the ground, so the beged has a visible texture and no color at all. One hole at each corner, tied keshiras Sefardi by hand. It is what Sefardi men reach for when a plain weave feels too ordinary for the day they are dressing for.
Sizes 18 through 28, round neck or slit neck, in thin or thick avodas yad. The round neck stays hidden under a collar and tie; the slit neck opens at the front and goes on more easily. Thin is the everyday hand-tied string; thick gives a fuller set of tzitzis, which suits the weight of this fabric.
This is a Shabbos and Yom Tov beged. It is a common chosson purchase, and it is what a man wears under a white shirt on the Yomim Noraim when everything else he has on is white as well. If you already own plain wool for the week, this is the one to add rather than duplicate.
