Description
Grey, in the zip-around Malchut cover — a flat, modern grey with no pattern on it, closing on a zipper that runs the full way around the book. Of the four colours in this series, grey is the most neutral and the least obviously gendered, which is why it is the one that gets bought when a siddur is going to someone whose taste you do not know.
Order it in Ashkenaz, Sefard or Eduth Mizrach. The zip is a practical decision rather than a decorative one: a siddur that closes completely keeps its ribbon in place, keeps the page corners from folding, and survives being packed against other things. Over a few years that is the difference between a siddur that still looks respectable and one that does not.
Brown, pink and maroon are made in the same cover design, so a family ordering several can give each person his own colour without buying four different seforim. Grey tends to be the one the adults take.
