Description
A candelabra worked in embroidery, standing dead center on a brocade ground, with three Swarovski stones running down the middle of the design. The stones are the whole restraint of this piece — three of them, not a scattering, set into the candelabra itself so they read as light rather than as decoration. Brocade gives the panel a woven pattern behind the stitching, which keeps a fairly simple motif from looking bare.
Three sizes: 14.5 by 17.5 small, 15.5 by 19.5 medium, 19.5 by 23.5 large. The medium is the standard household order. Go to the large if the challos are wide, if the cover sits on a board, or if you like the cloth to drape over the edges rather than stop at them.
The same 135 design is made on navy velvet, and the two are worth comparing before you decide. Brocade is the lighter, brighter of the pair and sits well on a white or pale tablecloth; the velvet version is darker and heavier and holds up better against a busy table setting. Same candelabra, same three stones, very different presence.
