Tzitzis aren't a commodity. The wool, the weight, the length of the strings, and who tied them β€” every detail matters.

We stock wool, cotton, mesh, and performance tzitzis for men and boys, tied in every minhag: Ashkenaz, Chasidish, Sephardic, and Chabad. Every pair in this category is tied by hand by a real sofer, never machine-wound.

Picking the right tzitzis depends on three things: the beged (the garment), the strings, and the tying. For summer, mesh or cotton beged keeps you cool and still feels tzniusdik. For winter or year-round wear, wool is the classic choice β€” heavier, more durable, and the traditional preference for most Ashkenazic families.

String thickness and minhag matter too. Thicker, rounded strings are often preferred by Chasidic and Chabad communities, while thinner woven strings are more common in Lithuanian and Sephardic minhagim. If you're not sure what you need, ask β€” our Lakewood team ties for customers from every kehillah and can walk you through the differences.

Sizing is straightforward: measure the chest across the widest point, double it, and that's your size in centimeters. Boys' sizes run 18–40, bar mitzvah sizes 42–50, and adult sizes 52–80. Still unsure? Our size guide has every chart, or call the store at 732-444-3111 and we'll walk through it.

Every pair ships same-day from our Lakewood warehouse when ordered before 2 PM, and orders over $75 ship free anywhere in the US.

What's the difference between wool, cotton, and mesh tzitzis?

Wool is the most traditional and durable β€” it holds shape, breathes well, and the mitzvah is explicitly fulfilled with wool d'oraysa. Cotton is lighter and softer, often preferred for boys and for summer. Mesh is the most breathable and modern β€” great for active kids or hot weather β€” but check your minhag, as some communities prefer wool only.

How do I measure my size?

Measure across the chest at the widest point (usually the armpits), then double that number. A 20-inch chest measurement gives a size 40 tzitzis. Most adult men wear sizes 52–72.

What are strings tied by sofer vs. machine-tied?

Real tzitzis must be tied l'sheim mitzvas tzitzis by a person who has the specific intention. Every pair we sell is hand-tied by a sofer, not machine-wound. This is a minimum halachic requirement, not a luxury.

What's the difference between Ashkenaz and Sephardic tying?

Ashkenaz tying uses 7-8-11-13 windings between the five knots. Sephardic (Ari z'l) tying uses 10-5-6-5. Chasidic and Chabad have their own variations. We offer all of them β€” select your minhag at checkout.

Can I return tzitzis?

Yes β€” within 15 days if unworn, with original packaging and tags attached. We cannot accept returns on tzitzis that have been worn, for hygiene reasons.

Do you carry wide-necked, side-opened, or specific neck styles?

Yes β€” we carry V-neck, side-opened, wide-neck, and small-neck styles. Use the filters to narrow down, or call us and we'll find the right fit.
