A bar mitzvah is a milestone simcha and a serious purchase. Our consultation is free; our pricing is transparent; our hashgacha is senior.

Tefillin — the most important purchase
Tefillin are the single most important mitzvah-object purchase of a lifetime. They are worn almost every day for 60+ years. Buy once, buy right.
- Gassos tefillin — thick leather batim, the mehudar standard. $1,800–$3,800 depending on hashgacha and ksav.
- Peshutim Mehudarim — thinner batim, still kosher and high-quality. $1,200–$2,000.
- Hashgachot we carry — Rav Moshe Sternbuch, Rav Shammai Gross, Rav Yehuda Kleinman, Rav Meir Mazoz, and senior sofrim from Israel
Every pair ships with a certificate of kashrut, a kosher check sheet, and a leather case with the bar mitzvah's name engraved free.
Tallis — sizing matters
For a 13-year-old, size 50 (hip-length) or 55 (low-hip) is the most common. The minhag in some yeshivas is size 60+ (shoulder-drape like a cape) from day one. Check with your rebbi. Tallis materials: wool (traditional), wool-blend (warmer), and cotton (lightweight). Atarah options: silver, gold, or embroidered.

FAQs
When should I start buying tefillin?
3–4 months before the bar mitzvah. Sofer lead times plus engraving takes 8–12 weeks minimum.
How do I know tefillin are kosher?
Every pair we sell comes with certificates from senior hashgachot. We also offer a free 1-year kashrut check and a lifetime parsha check service.
What if my son is left-handed?
Left-handed tefillin are a special order — about 3 extra weeks. The shel-yad is wound on the right arm instead of the left. Consult your rav about edge cases.
