Description
Black, hard-sided, and cut to 7.5 by 4 by 3.5 inches, the 1850 is the plainest-speaking case in this group. Black hides the wear that a case picks up over years of Sukkos mornings, and the rigid body means the esrog is not carrying any of the weight of whatever is packed beside it.
It comes with the snap-on handle, so the box can be carried in one hand with the lulav in the other and then stripped down to a flat case once you are settled in your place. Only the one size is made, and it is the size an ordinary full esrog needs with room for its padding.
The 1850 design also exists as a megillah case, which makes it an easy number to build on. Buy the esrog box this Sukkos, add the megillah case before Purim, and the two match on the shelf. If black is not what you had in mind, the same 1850 case is made in navy as well.
