Description
Design 1803BR is a lulav case at the standard full length, 53.5 by 7.5 inches, made to take a bound lulav with the hadassim and aravos already tied in. Nothing about the fit is tight; the set goes in cleanly and comes out the same way, which is what you want when you are pulling the lulav out for the brocha with people standing on both sides of you.
Aluminum lining is the option to settle. The lined case slows the drying that starts almost as soon as the lulav is bound, so the set still looks respectable when Hoshana Rabbah comes around. The unlined case is the simpler build for a man who keeps his lulav in water at home and only needs something to carry it in.
Once Sukkos is over the case does not become useless — it is where the lulav lives on the way to being put away, and it goes back in the closet holding its shape for next year. Design 1803BR is built for that kind of long service rather than a single season.
