Description
Navy velvet with candlesticks, challah and floral wheat branches worked across it. The embroidery is neat rather than dense — an arrangement rather than an allover pattern — and on navy the thread reads clearly without needing crystals or raised work to help it. Navy is a forgiving colour for something that lives on a table with wine and children, and the velvet pile hides the small marks that a pale cover would show within a month.
Small is 15 by 17.5 and medium is 15.5 by 19.5. Both are everyday sizes. Take the medium for a standard pair of challos; the small works where the table is short or where the cover is a spare rather than the main one.
