Description
The cover is ivory with a flower design worked across it, and the booklet is square at 6 by 6 inches. That is a noticeably larger page than the small upright booklets, which means larger type and less turning in the middle of a zemer. The pale ground suits a set table; against a white cloth it reads as part of the setting rather than as a stack of booklets brought in for the occasion.
Choose Ashkenaz or Eduth Mizrach when you order. Inside, it carries the whole of Shabbos, from hadlakas neiros through kiddush and the zemiros for Friday night and Shabbos day, and on to the zemiros for motzei Shabbos, so one booklet covers both seudos and the end of the day without anyone reaching for a second sefer.
It is a common choice for a simcha, a sheva brachos, a kiddush or a bar mitzvah seudah, where booklets are laid at every place and are meant to look of a piece with the flowers and the linen. Order enough for the full table and the ivory reads as a decision rather than an accident.
