Description
Beige with a gold design on the cover, 7.5 by 5 inches, a taller and narrower page than most of this group, which gives the type room to run down the column. Beige is a softer ground than white and reads warmer under candlelight, which is much of the reason it gets chosen for a table lit with leichter rather than overheads.
Ashkenaz or Eduth Mizrach is the selection. The proportions are the practical point here: a 7.5-inch page carries more per opening, so there is less turning in the middle of a zemer, which matters when the person holding it is also holding a fork.
