Description
A Jerusalem skyline embroidered in several colours across a navy velvet ground, with the words L'kovod Shabbos Kodesh set neatly above the pattern to finish it. The multicoloured thread is what makes 285 unusual in this range — nearly every other cover here works in a single metallic, and this one uses colour to separate the buildings and give the skyline depth. On navy velvet the colours hold rather than washing out.
Three sizes are made: small at 14.5 by 17.5, medium at 15.5 by 19.5 and large at 19.5 by 23.5. A skyline needs width to read properly, so the large is the version that shows the design best. The medium still works and is the practical household size; the small compresses the buildings noticeably.
Malchut produces 285 as a bencher cover as well. Benchers matched to the cover on the table is a natural set, and this design in particular suits a home where Eretz Yisroel comes up at the table often enough that the skyline means something to the children sitting at it.
