Description
Lucite and silver: a clear holder with a silver trim line, filled with ten matching zemiros Shabbos booklets. It stands on the table rather than lying flat on it, and because the body is clear the only things that register visually are the silver edge and the even row of booklet spines behind it.
The set is printed double-sided in nusach Ashkenaz, and the ten booklets are what make it work at a full table. Nobody waits for a booklet to be passed down, nobody is left mumbling along at zemiros, and at bentching they come out again without a search. Afterward the whole set returns upright in one place instead of ending up scattered among the plates.
Silver is the version to take when the leichter, the becher and the challah knife on your table are already silver; the gold-trimmed #255 is the same holder for a warmer setting. Either way it is self-contained, holder and booklets together, which is why it turns up so often on a chasunah gift list.
