Lightweight Kittel with Shoulder Pads, Bekishe Fit #2103

Fitting like a bekishe is not a figure of speech on 2103, it describes the cut. The shoulders are padded and shaped, so the kittel hangs from the shoulder line instead of sagging off the neck the way an unstructured one does. What you get is a defined shoulder and a clean fall through the body, closer to a bekishe than to a robe thrown over a suit.

It is made in poly cotton and in linen. Sizing works in two parts: chest size, 34 through 48 in even numbers, and then length, small through X-large. That is a real sizing system rather than four vague labels, and it means a man with a 38 chest who happens to be tall can order the 38 in a long length instead of buying a 42 and swimming in it.

The weight is the other half of the story. A lightweight kittel matters most on Yom Kippur, when it goes on before Kol Nidrei and stays on until Neilah, and any extra fabric across the shoulders is felt by the middle of Mussaf.
