Lightweight Kittel with Shoulder Pads, Bekishe Fit #2112

Design 2112 is the lightweight bekishe kittel with nothing added to it: pads in the shoulder, a shaped shoulder line, a clean drop through the body, white throughout. It reads as a well-cut garment rather than a decorated one, and that is what it is meant to be.

It is offered in poly cotton and in linen, chest 34 through 48, length small through X-large. The practical difference between the two fabrics shows up in storage rather than in wear. A kittel spends most of the year folded away; poly cotton comes out of that fold ready to go, while linen will want pressing before Erev Yom Kippur. Neither is a drawback, but it is worth knowing before you order.

Hang it rather than fold it if you have the room, and keep it away from anything that yellows white cloth. A kittel bought at twenty is expected to still be in service at fifty, and most of what shortens that life happens during the eleven months it is not being worn.
