Description
Length is the decision most men underthink, and 2111 makes it a choice separate from the fit. The kittel itself is the lightweight bekishe cut with shoulder pads — structured across the top, falling clean through the body — and how far down it falls is left to you.
Chest sizes run 34 to 48; lengths run small, medium, large and X-large. A kittel wants to clear the floor with room to spare, since you will be standing, sitting, bowing and in many shuls going down fully on Yom Kippur, and a hem caught underfoot is a genuine nuisance at the worst possible moment. Aim for a few inches above the shoe rather than level with it.
Poly cotton and linen are both available in every combination. Linen falls with a little more weight at the hem than poly cotton does, which is worth accounting for if you are between two lengths: take the shorter of the two.
