Stripped of crystal work the design has to stand on line and texture alone, and it does — the quilted ridge outlining the oval is what you see, and the brocade ground supplies pattern without adding any sparkle. Three sizes: large at 19.5x23.5, small at 14.5x17.5 and medium at 15.5x19.5. Since nothing is set into the surface, all three handle easily and fold without worry, which is a real consideration for a cover used fifty-odd times a year rather than kept aside for Yom Tov.

There is a challah board made in the 777 design. The board and the stone-free cover together give you the full oval pattern across the table without the care that crystals ask for, and the matched setting reads far cleaner than a board and cover that nearly agree.
