Description
Shaped as a menorah rather than a dreidel, design #207 is a perspex stand carrying the brachos for lighting along with Maoz Tzur. The silhouette does the announcing — set next to the actual menorah it echoes the shape without competing with it — and the text sits where a room of people can sing from it instead of crowding around one bencher.
Maoz Tzur is the reason this one gets picked over a plain brachos stand. Everybody sings it and almost nobody has all the words, so having them up where the family is already standing saves the annual scramble for a bencher open to the right page. It stays out all eight nights and gets read every one of them.
Perspex is a fine, impressive acrylic and the right call for a spot a few feet from open flames and spilled oil, since it cleans efficiently and takes years of use. Other pieces in the Chanukah line are made in the #207 design, so the lighting corner can be put together in one look rather than accumulated a piece at a time.
