Description
The seforim, candlesticks and flower design embroidered onto velvet — the same scene as the brocade version, but the pile swallows light around the stitching so the embroidery stands out in relief. Everything that makes this design likeable is still here: the row of seforim, the candlesticks beside them, the flowers filling out the composition. On velvet it reads warmer and older.
Three sizes: large at 19.5x23.5, small at 14.5x17.5 and medium at 15.5x19.5. The medium suits most family boards. If your table is long and you like the cover to reach the ends, take the large — the embroidered scene stays centered over the challos either way.
There is a haggadah cover made in the same 235 pattern. The design is also produced on white brocade, the crisper and brighter of the two grounds; velvet is the one that suits a table with plenty of wood and silver, and it is the version people who grew up with this design tend to remember.
